About Michael

From an early age, I knew I wanted to pursue a career where I could serve the public in some capacity. My father was my ultimate inspiration to devote my life to serving others. As a criminal defense attorney, he showed me how one individual could make a difference by advocating for the voiceless. Given his busy schedule, I found that we spent most of our time together on the weekends. Our Saturdays were usually spent running errands around town. No matter what store or town we were in, someone would always stop my father to chat. After a while, I realized that most of these people were my father’s former or current clients. Some had questions, and others simply wanted to catch up, but the indisputable positive impact his guidance had on these individuals’ lives was apparent. My father’s commitment and passion for being an advocate ignited my drive to do the same.

Family has always been central in my life. My parents instilled in me the belief that, when all else fails, you can trust and rely on family. I am lucky to have three siblings, who are also my best friends. My core familial values, coupled with my observations of my father in the legal profession, led me to pursue a career in family law.

I grew up in Weedsport, New York, a small town west of Syracuse, New York. I am a huge Syracuse Orange and Boston sports fan. In my free time, I enjoy skiing, golfing, and spending time with my family and friends. I now live in Fairfield, Connecticut, as after watching my father over the years, I believe in being part of the community where I practice law.

Michael, The Professional

I joined Broder Orland Murray & DeMattie LLC as an associate in August 2022.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 2019. While there, I played linebacker and served as a captain on the school’s NCAA Division III football team. My experiences at Western New England University taught me the teamwork, devotion, and work ethic required to succeed in any area of life, as well as the law. I bring that same effort and energy to every case I work on.

Having fallen in love with New England during my undergraduate degree, I decided to continue my education at Quinnipiac University School of Law. While at Quinnipiac, I competed with the school’s Mock Trial Society, where I learned invaluable advocacy skills. Additionally, I served as the Vice-President of the Military Law Society and was an active member of the Italian-American and the Sport and Entertainment Law Societies. At graduation, I was honored with the Excellence in Clinical Education Award for my work with the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center Clinic, where I assisted veterans in seeking a review of their Character of Discharge determinations.

Throughout law school, I gained diverse legal experience through internships and clerkships. I interned with two different branches of military justice: with the United States Air Force JAG Corps in Columbus, Mississippi, and the United States Coast Guard JAG in Boston, Massachusetts. During my 2L and 3L years, I interned for the Quinnipiac University Athletics Compliance Office and worked as a law clerk for Lynch, Traub, Keefe & Errante, in New Haven, Connecticut.

Divorce is a life-altering event, and my mission is to provide clarity and support during this challenging time. Whether it’s negotiating child custody arrangements, dividing marital assets, or resolving alimony matters, I approach each case with diligence and empathy.

Fun Fact: My girlfriend and I have a Golden Retriever named Bear, named after our college mascot, the Golden Bears.
