About Michael

From an early age, I knew I wanted to pursue a career where I could serve the public in one fashion or another. My father was my ultimate inspiration to devote my life to serving others. As a criminal defense attorney, he showed me how one individual could make a difference by advocating for the voiceless. Given his busy schedule, I found that we spent most of our time together on the weekends. Our Saturdays were usually spent running errands around town. No matter what store or town we were in, someone would always stop my father to chat. After a while, I realized that most of these people were my father’s former or current clients. Some had questions, and some just wanted to catch up, but it was clearly apparent the indisputable positive impact his guidance had on these individuals’ lives. My father’s commitment and passion for being an advocate ignited my drive to do the same.

Family has always been one of the most important aspects of my life. My parents taught me from the start that when all else fails, you should be able to trust and rely on family. I am lucky to have three siblings, who are also my best friends. My core familial values, coupled with my observations of my father in the legal profession, led me to pursue a career in family law.

I am from Weedsport, New York, a small town located west of Syracuse, New York. I am a huge Syracuse Orange and Boston sports fan. In my free time, I enjoy skiing, golfing, and spending time with my family and friends.  I  reside in Fairfield, Connecticut, as after watching my father over the years, I realize the value of living in the community where I practice law.

Michael, The Professional

I joined Broder Orland Murray & DeMattie LLC as an associate in August 2022.

I graduated from Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 2019, and received  my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In addition to my coursework at Western New England, I played Linebacker and served as a captain on the school’s NCAA Division III football team. My experiences at Western New England University taught me the teamwork, devotion, and work ethic required to succeed in any area of life, as well as the law. I bring that same effort and energy to every case I work on.

Having fallen in love with New England four years prior, I decided to continue my education at Quinnipiac University School of Law. While at Quinnipiac, I competed in the school’s Mock Trial Society, where I learned invaluable advocacy skills. Additionally, I served as the Vice-President of the Military Law Society and was a member of the Italian-American and the Sport and Entertainment Law Societies. At graduation, I received the Excellence in Clinical Education Award for my contributions to the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center Clinic, where I assisted in the representation of veterans seeking a review of their Character of Discharge determinations.

The most beneficial part of my time and education at Quinnipiac was the opportunity to take advantage of the numerous internships and clinical experiences available to me. I have interned with two different branches of military justice in the United States Air Force JAG Corps in Columbus, Mississippi, and the United States Coast Guard JAG in Boston, Massachusetts. During my 2L and 3L years, I interned for the Quinnipiac University Athletics Compliance Office and worked as a law clerk for Lynch, Traub, Keefe & Errante, in New Haven, Connecticut.

Divorce is a life-altering event, and my mission is to provide clarity and support during this challenging time. Whether it’s negotiating child custody arrangements, dividing marital assets, or addressing alimony, I approach each case with diligence and empathy.
